Mumbai. There is an uproar in the Malayalam film industry after the Justice Hema Committee report. Many actresses came forward and openly made allegations of sexual exploitation. These allegations and incidents have shaken the entire country. Many people say that similar dirty work happens in the entertainment industry. Now TV actress Kamya Punjabi has talked about the TV industry. In a special conversation with News18 Shosha, Kamya described TV as the safest industry and claimed that there is no sexual exploitation or casting couch here.
Kamya Punjabi said, “TV has been very clean. I don’t know what it used to be like, but it’s much cleaner now. There is no such filth here. Here people are not forced or blackmailed. There is no casting couch here. If you fit a role, you have talent, then you will be selected for the show.”
Kamya Punjabi said that the work is done with consent
Kamya Punjabi said, “I think television is the safest place in the entertainment industry. There is no sexual exploitation here. Whatever happens, there is mutual consent. “No one is asking anyone to sleep with them in exchange for a role.” However, Kamya admitted that there are some actors in the TV industry who are womanizers. But they don’t do anything until there is agreement.
No one touches actresses: Kamya Punjabi
Kamya Punjabi said, “Some actors are womanizers, but if you are clear then you can stop them. No one is being forced to do this. It is not that you will be touched and you will feel uncomfortable. If you tell them, ‘Hello, I don’t like this’, you will not be touched. We have seen such actors who go crazy for girls, but no one forces anyone.”
Kamya Punjabi doesn’t know about OTT and films
Kamya Punjabi further said, “I know some people who say that such things have happened to them. But then again, if a girl doesn’t want to, it won’t happen. This does not happen in the TV industry. I don’t know about films or OTT, but this doesn’t happen in TV.”
