Student union elections are considered the first step of politics, but this time the student leaders are angry due to the student union elections not being held in Uttarakhand. Student leaders of Uttarakhand have become furious after the High Court’s decision not to hold elections. Demonstrations are taking place in the entire state regarding holding of elections. Students also created a ruckus in Pandit BD Pandey Campus of Bageshwar. High voltage drama went on in the college for 6 hours. The students had been sitting on strike since night after receiving the news that the elections would not be held. In the morning they took out a symbolic funeral procession of the Higher Education Minister and burnt his effigy. After this they climbed onto the roof of the campus building. Meanwhile, the health of 6 students deteriorated. He was brought to the district hospital. The police and administration struggled to get other students off the roof.
Uttarakhand High Court, while hearing the petition related to student union elections, remarked that in the government order issued by the state government on April 23, it was asked to hold elections by September 30, but the campus and university administration did not comply with this order of the government. Therefore, now student union elections will not be held.

The unconscious students were taken to the district hospital and the students who had climbed on the roof were brought down with difficulty.
