CO Sadar Dehat Navina Shukla has started investigation in the matter of the inspectors who went to collect money from the shopkeeper on the pretext of selling firecrackers in Meerut. Both the inspectors were taken hostage by the villagers. Police from three police stations reached the village and rescued both of them.

Inspector Satyendra and Shivam are posted at Parikshitgarh police station. Both of them reached Govindpuri village on Saturday night. Shopkeeper Sitaram was accused of selling illegal firecrackers. Both of them had an argument regarding this matter. Just then an elderly lady of the house came. The inspector slapped the woman.
The villagers locked the Inspector in a room
When the village youth Harendra protested, he was also beaten up. On receiving information about the fight and commotion, 20-25 people of the village gathered. Both the inspectors were taken hostage. Then reported in control form. As soon as the information was received, police from Parikshitgarh, Kithore and Mawana police stations reached the spot.
Seeing this much force, the villagers created an uproar. After this, the police assured action against both the inspectors. Then the villagers calmed down. Then the police took both the inspectors with them. The villagers alleged that both the inspectors were drunk.
SSP handed over investigation to CO
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada had handed over the investigation of the entire matter to CO Sadar Dehat. The CO has started investigation on Sunday. Statements of the villagers are also being recorded.
