Srinagar Garhwal: Despite the increase in burn cases due to fireworks during Diwali, people are facing a lot of trouble due to the absence of a burn OPD in the base hospital. People of this area have to go to far-flung hospitals even for first aid in case of burns.
Local resident Sanjay Fauji said that Srinagar Base Hospital is the only big hospital for the people of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri and Tehri districts. But here people are facing a lot of difficulties due to burn OPD and lack of specialist doctors. He said, “Not only do the cases of burning increase during Diwali, many people also get burnt due to forest fires. In such a situation, it is very important to have a burn OPD.”
Hospital administration says
Principal of Base Hospital, Dr. CMS Rawat said that they are making continuous efforts to start Burn OPD. He said, “We know how much the burn OPD is needed and we are trying to start this facility as soon as possible.”
