Today i.e. on November 5, the Sensex recovered 1,180 points from the day’s low of 78,296. After the day’s trading, it closed at 79,476 with a rise of 694 points.
Nifty also recovered 371 points from the day’s low of 23,842. It closed at the level of 24,213 with a gain of 217 points.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 rose and 9 declined. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 39 were up and 11 were down. The metal sector of NSE had the highest increase of 2.84%.
There was mixed trading in Asian markets
- HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and SBI led the market the most. Whereas, ITC, Infosys and Bharti Airtel dragged the market down.
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.11%. Whereas Korea’s Kospi fell by 0.47% and China’s Shanghai Composite closed with a rise of 2.32%.
- On November 4, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.61% to 41,794 and the S&P 500 fell 0.28% to 5,712. The Nasdaq fell 0.33% to 18,179.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹4,329.79 crore on November 4. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 2,936.08 crore.
Sagility India’s IPO opens
The initial public offering (IPO) of Sagility India, which provides healthcare focused solutions and services, has opened today. Investors can bid for this issue till November 7. There was a decline in the market yesterday
Earlier yesterday i.e. on November 4, the Sensex had closed at the level of 78,782 with a fall of 941 points (1.18%). At the same time, Nifty also declined by 309 points (1.27%), it closed at the level of 23,995.
The realty index had the highest decline of 2.93%. Whereas Oil and Gas index fell by 2.48% and Nifty Media fell by 2.16%. Consumer durables, private banks, FMCG and metal indices were down more than 1%. Hero MotoCorp shares closed down 4.25%.
