Dehradun : November has started, but winter has not yet arrived in Uttarakhand. Usually, after Diwali, people take out warm clothes, but this time there are hardly any signs of cold. According to the Meteorological Department, the reason for this is the very less rainfall (Rainfall Shortfall) in October. The weather is expected to remain dry in November also, due to which the wait for cold has increased further.
The first week of November is about to end, but there is no feeling of cold. This time the weather pattern is different. The temperature is still above normal and people are feeling slight heat during the day. In previous years, cold winds used to start blowing by this time, but this time the situation is opposite.

It has not rained for 5 days
No rainfall has been recorded in any part of the state in the first 5 days of November. The Meteorological Department says that there is no sign of good rain for the coming week. Although there is a possibility of sporadic rain in some districts, there is little possibility of it increasing the cold.
Increasing impact of global warming
Due to global warming, the temperature around the world is increasing and its effect is now clearly visible on the weather of Uttarakhand. October 2024 has been counted among the hottest October months ever, breaking the record of 1951. Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of Uttarakhand Meteorological Center, believes that the temperature may remain above normal in the first two weeks of November. However, there is a possibility of the temperature falling from the third week, due to which the feeling of cold will gradually start appearing.
Will have to wait for the cold
This time there is lack of snowfall in the mountainous areas also, due to which the arrival of cold is getting delayed. The Meteorological Department says that a drop in temperature is possible, but for now the people of Uttarakhand will have to wait longer for winter.
