New Delhi. Hero Splendor has a strong dominance in the country’s motorcycle market, selling millions of units every month. However, when we talk about different engine segments, the figures change. Especially in the 150cc to 200cc engine segment, Honda Unicorn’s dominance is clearly visible. This category includes many models of TVS, Bajaj, Yamaha, Honda and Hero. Here we are presenting information about the top 10 best-selling models of this segment.
In August 2024, 31,351 units of Honda Unicorn were sold, while in August 2023 its sales were 31,473 units. Thus, its sales decreased by 122 units and an annual decline of 0.39% was recorded. TVS Apache sales stood at 30,038 units in August 2024, which was 18,863 units in August 2023. It gained 11,175 units, registering an annual increase of 59.24%.
How were the sales of Bajaj and Yamaha?
Bajaj Pulsar sold 25,137 units in August 2024, while its sales in August 2023 were 17,111 units. It sold 8,026 units more and showed a YoY growth of 46.91%. Yamaha FZ sales stood at 12,253 units in August 2024, while in August 2023 it was 13,241 units. There was a decline of 988 units and an annual decline of 7.46% was recorded.
Yamaha MT15 sold 9,929 units in August 2024, compared to 7,296 units in the same month last year. This represents an annual increase of 36.09% with an increase of 2,633 units. Sales of Yamaha R15 in August 2024 stood at 8,583 units, while in August 2023 it was 10,483 units, which shows a decrease of 1,900 units and a YoY decline of 18.12%.
Honda SP 160 performed poorly
Honda SP 160 sales stood at 4,858 units in August 2024, which was 2,278 units in August 2023. This resulted in an increase of 2,580 units and an annual growth of 113.26%. Hero XPulse 200 sales stood at 2,930 units in August 2024, compared to 3,914 units last year, resulting in a decline of 984 units and an annual decline of 25.14%.
KTM 200 sold 2,332 units in August 2024, which was 3,403 units in August 2023. There was a decrease of 1,071 units and an annual decline of 31.47% was recorded. Hero Extreme 160R/200 sales stood at 2,272 units in August 2024, while its sales in August 2023 were 3,869 units, registering a decline of 1,597 units and an annual growth of 41.28%.
