Dehradun: A case of IAS Meenakshi Sundaram, Energy and Housing Secretary of Uttarakhand, receiving death threats in her own secretariat office has come to light, due to which serious questions are being raised on the secretariat security. In the complaint given to Dehradun SSP, it was told that a young man, Bobby Panwar, along with his two companions entered the office of Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram and abused her and threatened to kill her.
What is the matter?
According to the complaint, Bobby Panwar pressured Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram to get an Energy Department tender in the name of his acquaintance. When the secretary rejected this, Bobby Panwar became angry and resorted to abusive language and even threatened by removing his shoe. During this time, Secretary Sundaram called his private secretaries, but the accused misbehaved with them too and threatened to kill them.
Case registered against the accused
Senior Private Secretary Kapil Kumar immediately complained about the matter to SSP Dehradun. The police have registered a case against the accused Bobby Panwar and his two associates under Indian Penal Code sections 115(2) (threat to kill), 352 (assault or attempt to assault), 351(3) (threatening), 121(1) A case has been registered under IPC, 132, and 221.
assurance of strict action
On this matter, Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar said that such misbehavior at an important place like the Secretariat is condemnable and strict action will be taken against the accused. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) AP Anshuman has also instructed the Senior Superintendent of Police to thoroughly investigate the matter and take necessary action.
Fury of secretariat union and senior officials
Former president of the Secretariat Association, Deepak Joshi, has strongly condemned this incident. He called it an attack on the honor of the secretariat and demanded strict action against the culprits. Joshi said that such misbehavior at a sensitive place like the Secretariat is highly condemnable and the government should immediately take strict action in this matter.
