Although in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand (Uttarakhand Weather Today), the heat is still felt due to bright sunshine during the day, but cold has started spreading in the hilly areas of Devbhoomi. Due to cold winds blowing in the lake city of Nainital, even the sunlight became weak. The sun, which used to play hide and seek in the sky, sometimes hides behind the clouds and sometimes shows bright sunlight. Frost and fog are adding to both the cold and discomfort. This problem is going to increase further because the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in two districts in view of dense fog in the coming days.
Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, Dehradun, informed that there was partly cloudy sky in the hilly areas of the state on Wednesday. Even in the capital Dehradun, the sunshine remained very weak, due to which there was a feeling of increasing cold. He said that the weather in all the districts of the state will remain dry on Thursday. There is a possibility of dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts of Uttarakhand, regarding which the department has issued a yellow alert. There is a need to be very careful in the plain areas including these two districts, especially those who drive, they should avoid driving in heavy fog. Children and elderly people are being advised to avoid dry cold.
Dehradun’s minimum temperature is 10.3 degrees Celsius.
According to the information received from Meteorological Center Dehradun, on Wednesday the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 10.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Pantnagar was 28 degrees and the minimum temperature was 9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Mukteshwar was 17 degrees while the minimum temperature was 5.1 degrees Celsius. Whereas the maximum temperature of New Tehri was recorded at 7.6 degrees and the minimum temperature was 5.8 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, the air quality index (Dehradun AQI) of Dehradun was recorded at 90, which is satisfactory. According to the temperature data released by IMD, a decrease in temperature has been recorded in the last 48 hours, due to which the cold has increased. In the state, the average temperature has dropped by two to three degrees Celsius and the night temperature has dropped by four degrees Celsius. As a result, the average night temperature remains around 5 degrees Celsius in the hilly areas and 10 degrees Celsius in the plains.
