Haridwar: According to religious texts, Margashirsha month is the most favorite month of Lord Vishnu. In the month of Margashirsha, worshiping Lord Vishnu, performing religious rituals, memorizing his mantras, reciting Vishnu Sahastranam and fasting for him, etc., is believed to yield greater results. Lord Vishnu is more pleased by the religious works done in the month of Margashirsha and provides the desired results.
This day has special significance
Ekadashi date has been given special importance in Hindu religion. According to the Hindu calendar, there are a total of 24 Ekadashis in a year which have their own significance. All Ekadashi dates falling in Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha are dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Utpanna Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month has special significance in Hindu religion. According to mythology, Goddess Ekadashi was born on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month.
Special Ekadashi is coming
Giving more information about the importance of Utpanna Ekadashi to Local 18, Haridwar astrologer Pandit Sridhar Shastri tells that Ekadashi date is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There is a religious belief that if Ekadashi fast is observed on this day, all sins will be eradicated and salvation will be attained. A total of 24 Ekadashis arrive in a year. Different importance has been given to all Ekadashi.
In Hindu religion, Utpana Ekadashi in the month of Margashirsha, favorite of Lord Vishnu, has special significance. In the year 2024, the fast of Utpanna Ekadashi will be observed on 26th November. According to religious texts, Goddess Ekadashi was born from the part of Lord Vishnu on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month. On this day, all the sins of the devotees who observe Ekadashi fast as per the rituals are eradicated and they attain salvation.
Lord Vishnu had given the boon of salvation
Devi Ekadashi was born from the part of Lord Vishnu. By observing Ekadashi fast on Krishna Paksha Ekadashi in Margashirsha month as per the rituals, all the sins of previous births are eradicated and one attains salvation. On this day, sitting in Lord Vishnu’s temple or home’s shrine and reciting Vishnu Sahastranam with devotion, reciting Lord Vishnu’s mantras and performing Havan Yagya, happiness and peace remains in the family and Lord Vishnu always maintains blessings.
Do not use rice on this day
According to the legend, on this day Goddess Ekadashi had sought a boon from Lord Vishnu that the seeker or devotee who observes the fast of Ekadashi as per the rituals, all his sins will be eradicated and he will attain salvation. On Utpanna Ekadashi, take a bath before sunrise and resolve to fast and after fasting the whole day, offer prayers to Lord Vishnu in the evening. Rice or rice-based items are completely prohibited during Ekadashi fast. By using rice on Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu gets angry and sorrows, problems and troubles keep coming in life.
