On the instructions of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, a meeting of the Child Welfare Committee was organized at Vikas Bhawan on Saturday regarding child safety and protection. The meeting was presided over by committee members Amit Chandel and Ranjana Choubey.

Survey and rehabilitation of street children Protection officers Romi Pathak and Gayatri Dubey said that a survey will be conducted to identify children living in street-like conditions. An action plan will be prepared after estimating the number of these children and the expenses required for their rehabilitation.
Data will be updated on Bal Swaraj portal ORW Sheshamani Dubey informed that the actual data of children living on roads and footpaths will be updated on the Bal Swaraj Portal. The process of providing benefits to these children as per their eligibility under government schemes will also be started.
Help will be available on child helpline Seema Sharma and Sudha Giri told that information about children’s safety, protection and government schemes can also be obtained through child helpline. The committee directed that the identified children should be presented before the committee and necessary action should be taken. Members of the Child Welfare Committee, officers of the District Child Protection Unit, anti-human trafficking team and officers of other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
