Almora. The morning of 4th November brought bad news for Uttarakhand. A bus fell into a ditch in Marchula of Salt in Almora district. 38 people died and more than a dozen were injured in this road accident. Many injured are still undergoing treatment. The main reason for the accident was overloading. There were 62 people in the 37 seater bus. After this accident, the mountain travelers seem alert. The latest case is from Chaukhutia in Almora district, where a bus was preparing to go to Ramnagar when the passengers got information that the driver-conductor was drunk. What happened next, the passengers started getting off the bus. Its video is going viral on social media.
According to the information received, a bus of GMOU was preparing to go from Chaukhutia towards Ramnagar, in which about 25 passengers were sitting. As soon as the passengers came to know that the driver and conductor were drunk, they started getting off the bus in protest. There was also an altercation between the conductor and the passengers. The video of passengers getting off the bus is going viral on social media. It can be seen in the video that the passengers are getting off the bus one by one and accusing the driver and conductor of being drunk.
People informed the police
As soon as the matter escalated, the people present there informed the police. After which the police reached the spot. SO Satish Chandra Kapri said that it was not the driver but the conductor who was drunk. He was challaned and warned not to repeat such behavior in future.

It is noteworthy that in hilly areas it is often seen that drivers drive under the influence of alcohol and because of this they invite accidents. Police conduct checking campaigns from time to time. Everyone needs to be alert in such matters. Just as the people of Chaukhutiya became aware and opposed the wrong, similarly every person needs to be conscious about his own and others’ safety.
