The court found the father guilty of murdering his minor daughter by poisoning him in Muzaffarnagar and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 18 thousand on the guilty father. This punishment was given in the court of Kamlapati, the presiding officer of the fast track court.

The incident is of 13 August 2018. Bhopa police station had received information that a person had absconded after giving poisonous substance to his minor daughter. Police immediately reached the spot and sent the victim to the hospital, where she died during treatment. In connection with this incident, a case was registered against the accused at Bhopa police station under sections 302, 316 and 328 of IPC.
Taking prompt action in the case, the police arrested the accused Sundar son of Tarif, resident of village Sikrod, police station Sihani Gate Ghaziabad on 14 August 2018 and presented him before the court. The police completed the evidence collection process and sent the charge sheet to the court on 5 September 2018.
Government advocate Pradeep Sharma appeared on behalf of the prosecution and presented four witnesses. As a result of effective advocacy by the prosecution and the police, the court on Tuesday found the accused Sundar guilty on the basis of all the witnesses and evidence, under which he was sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 18,000.
