Allahabad High Court has directed to file charge sheet in the death case of BHU student. The court accepted the demand of the state government to give time for this. This order was given by the division bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Vikas Saurabh Tiv.

The government lawyer told the court that the state government had approved the prosecution against the three guilty policemen on September 18. On this, the Chief Justice asked whether the charge sheet against the culprits in the case had been filed in the court or not. On this the state government’s advocate asked for time. Giving time to the state government’s counsel, the High Court fixed December 4 as the date of the next hearing.
Petitioner advocate Saurabh Tiwari said that BHU B.Sc. second year student Shiv Kumar Trivedi had gone missing from Lanka police station Varanasi under suspicious circumstances on 13 February 2020. CBCID investigation found that the BHU student died due to drowning in Yamuna Pokhri, Ramnagar Varanasi on 15 February 2020. After this, on August 16, 2022, a case was registered against 8 policemen in the case.
