250 bighas of crops in a nearby village were destroyed by the dirty water of Kannauj city. The village roads were also filled with drain and sewer water. Due to which it became difficult for the villagers to go anywhere. When Dainik Bhaskar team reached the village on the call of the villagers, they were stunned to see the sight. h

Sadar belongs to Sadikapur village of Kotwali area. For the last 10-12 years, the village is filled with dirty and smelly water during winter. Whereas in summer, some people of the city do not allow water to reach the village. When this matter was investigated, Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Sadikapur village, told that Shekhana Mohalla of the city is about 1 kilometer away from the village. The Muslims living there do farming in the surrounding area.
In summer, they grow maize crop, which requires more water. In such a situation, people of Shekhana locality irrigate their fields with drain water. There is no need to irrigate the crop in winter. Therefore, they stop the water from the incomplete drain by pouring soil there. Then the same dirty and smelly water fills Sadikapur village. The villagers have been facing this kind of hell every winter.
Pramod Kumar told that his fields are filled with dirty water in winter. Therefore crops cannot be grown. They are forced to work as laborers to support their families. Pramod told that he complained about the matter to the leaders and officials several times, but the solution could not be found till now.
People of Dalit community face the most problems due to filling of drains. Only the fields of Dalits get flooded. This problem was also raised with our community leader and UP government minister Aseem Arun, but the hearing was not held.
In summer, people of Shekhana locality plow crops with dirty water.
Rajesh Kumar and Puneet Katiyar, residents of the village, said that most of the farming between the village and the city belongs to the Muslims living in Kannauj. Whenever the officials try to start the construction of the drain, they show arrogance and become bent upon creating ruckus. Because if the drain is constructed then the problem of the villagers will be solved, but those Muslims will not be able to get free water for irrigation of crops in summer.
Puneet Katiyar told that if crops are irrigated with dirty and smelly drain water, it becomes poisonous, yet the people of Shekhana locality grow crops by irrigating them with drain water.
Former head said – officers and leaders do not pay attention Dainik Bhaskar team met former head Radhakrishna, resident of Sadikapur village. During the conversation, he told that he remained the head of the village for 17 years and during his tenure he kept struggling with the same problem of drain water.
Went to court for solution, but this problem still persists. He said that if the leaders and officials are determined then the problem can be solved in 2 days, but due to their indifference this hell is not ending.
Villagers have also boycotted the elections
Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Sadikapur, said that when this age-old problem was not resolved, the villagers boycotted voting in the elections. During the assembly elections only a few people cast their votes, the rest of the village boycotted it. At that time officials and leaders came among the villagers and also assured to solve the problem, but after the elections everything remains the same.
Pradhan is also measuring the solution of the problem at the doorstep of the officers. Village head of Sadikapur, Vikas Babu told that his village is adjacent to Kannauj city. Every year in winter, people fall ill due to the dirty and smelly water of the drain. Due to waterlogging on the roads, children face difficulties in traveling to school, college and coaching. He is constantly measuring the limits of leaders and officers regarding the problems of the villagers, but no solution is being found.
Due to waterlogging, the government buildings of the village also started cracking. There were cracks in the walls of the Panchayat building. A water tank is being constructed in the village under Jal Jeevan Mission. Where solar system was installed to run the motor. Now there is waterlogging in that area also.
Due to which it became difficult to save the newly constructed boundary there. Soil has been dug and poured by JCB in the outer area of the boundary, so that the boundary can be safely protected. The roofs of some houses also became hollow due to water. Due to which an accident can happen at any time.
