Betalghat. People of a village in Nainital district of Uttarakhand were scared. A young man from the village who returned from Delhi was calling himself a disciple of gangster Neeraj Bawana. He was spreading terror in the village in the name of Bawana. The accused had an illegal pistol with which he was threatening people and trying to extort money from them. Due to fear of him, no one was going to the police with a complaint and this was giving him strength. Meanwhile, Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena came to know about the activities of the youth. He gave instructions to take action and the police immediately arrested him with the pistol.
According to information received from Nainital Police, the name of the accused is Deepak Singh Jalal (29). He is a resident of village Dhaniyakot. The accused had recently returned from Delhi. There he had heard the name of gangster Neeraj Bawana. After which he returned to the village and planned terror and extortion in the name of gangster. He started calling himself Bawana’s disciple. Deepak started scaring people with the help of illegal pistol and trying to extort money from them. Due to his fear, no one was ready to complain to the police and this was giving him courage.
Arrested near Ghiroli bridge
When this matter came to the notice of Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena, he ordered immediate action against the youth. The police team under the leadership of Betalghat police station incharge Aneesh Ahmed arrested Deepak Jalal near Ghiroli bridge during checking. A pistol was also recovered from him. Police said that the accused is a drug addict. Due to unemployment he entered the world of crime. The police arrested him and presented him in the court, from where he has been sent to jail.
Maintaining law and order is a priority
SSP PN Meena said that those trying to spread fear and anarchy in the society will not be spared at any cost. Our priority is to maintain law and order. More vigilance will be taken to ensure public safety. This action of Nainital Police ended the atmosphere of fear in the village. The villagers expressed gratitude towards the SSP and the police team.
