Nainital. The Talwar couple and their children, who reached Nainital in Uttarakhand, have launched a unique campaign to enact a population control law. For the last 32 years, the Talwar couple from Meerut have been walking upside down across the country to raise their demands for the implementation of population law in India and a meeting with the Prime Minister. It is also making people aware. The couple, who reached Nainital, went among the people at Mall Road, Pant Park and other places of the city to create awareness about population control. People were also surprised to see the family moving backwards.
While talking to Local 18, Dinesh Talwar said that since 1992, when PV Narasimha Rao was in power in the country, he has been running a campaign against population growth in the country. He wants to meet the Prime Minister for his campaign. Till now, he has tried hard to meet all the Prime Ministers who have come to power and asked for time, but till now he has only got disappointment.
Reverse march in more than 400 cities
He said that with the aim of stopping population growth, he has so far undertaken a reverse march in more than 400 cities of the country and made people aware. In 2010, he gave a memorandum by singing Ram Dhun in the District Magistrate Office Meerut for 365 days continuously but despite this nothing happened. From the beginning of his campaign till now, we wrote letters to every government that came to power but nothing happened. Dinesh and Disha Talwar are running the campaign with their son Yash Talwar and daughter Simran.
Talwar family has hope from Narendra Modi government
The Talwar couple have so far sent about one lakh postcards to the governments. The couple can be seen creating awareness among school children, in buses, trains and at any intersection of Meerut. Dinesh says that after running a campaign on population control, he will go straight from Nainital to Jantar Mantar in Delhi with his family and will try to send a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding making the population control law as soon as possible. The Talwar couple, who have completed 50 years of their life, have a lot of expectations from the Modi government. They hope that PM Modi will give them time to meet and will also make a law on population control. Dinesh said that until Prime Minister Modi gives time to meet him, his reverse march with his family will continue.
