On Wednesday, workers of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Swaraj) demonstrated strongly in all three tehsils of Kasganj regarding the problems of farmers. During this, the farmers submitted a memorandum of 6-point demands to the SDM and asked the state government to solve the problems as soon as possible.
.
The protesters raised slogans and appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to resolve their problems within 15 days. State President of BKU Swaraj Ashish Pandey said that if their demands are not met then they have been warned of indefinite strike at the Aligarh Commissioner’s office.
Ashish Pandey alleged that farmers are being harassed by the police administration in Kasganj district and their problems are being ignored by the officials. Besides, the issue of implicating farmers in false cases also came to light. Farmer leaders warned that if their demands were not met soon, the movement would be further intensified.
