Dehradun : The 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo will be organized from 12 to 15 December 2024 at the Parade Ground in Dehradun. It is noteworthy that Uttarakhand has become the host of the World Ayurveda Congress for the first time. More than 6000 representatives from 54 countries will participate in this 4-day international program. Now, only a few days are left for the event and preparations are being finalized.
This time the event will be based on the theme ‘Digital Health: An Ayurveda Perspective’. The conference will be attended by representatives from various states of India as well as countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and North East Asia. So far more than 6000 people have registered and this number is increasing every day.
Estimated to be attended by 1 lakh people
More than 200 organizations and industry groups have booked stalls at the conference to showcase their products and services. This event will not only become a platform for global promotion of Ayurveda, but will also organize a buyer-seller meet between entrepreneurs and government departments. It is expected that around one lakh people will be a part of this grand event in four days.
Administration busy in preparations
Uttarakhand AYUSH Department and other related departments have held several rounds of high-level meetings regarding the preparations for the conference. According to Additional Secretary, AYUSH Department, Vijay Kumar Jogdande, plans for tent construction, stage decoration, parking and transportation at the parade ground are in the final stages. Special arrangements have been made for the guests to stay.
Uttarakhand’s cultural identity and tourism will get a boost
The objective of the World Ayurveda Congress is to give Ayurveda an identity at the international level. This platform was first started in 2002 in Kochi, Kerala. After this, it was organized every two years in different states. After the 9th edition held in Goa in 2022, this historic event is now being organized in Dehradun. This conference at the Parade Ground in Dehradun will not only give a new height to Ayurveda, but will also promote the cultural identity and tourism of Uttarakhand. This four-day event will witness a wonderful confluence of global health and Ayurveda.
