UP College Principal of Varanasi has filed a case against Mukhtar Ansari, an advocate of Gyanvapi, for spoiling the atmosphere.

The name of Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari, the advocate of Gyanvapi Masjid case, is also included in this. Apart from this, Alawal and Ghulam Rasool associated with the mosque have been named. The other 10 accused have been included in the unknown. There is a demand to stop all of them from entering the college campus and to demand strict action.
Sections have been imposed on all of them for disturbing communal harmony by making irresponsible statements. At the same time, videos of the incident, YouTube links of media and social media statements have also been made available to the police. Cyber cell has started investigation on the statements of Alawal, Mukhtar Ahmed and Ghulam Rasool.

Principal Prof. Dharmendra Kumar Singh told in the complaint that UP College’s founder Rajarshi Ju Dev formed Uday Pratap College and Hewitt Kshatriya School Endowment Trust in 1909. After this the college was established. SM Yasin, Joint Secretary of Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee, has informed them that on December 6, 2018, the then Assistant Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board had issued a notice regarding the mosque located inside the UP College campus.
That notice was canceled by the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board on 18 January 2021. It is clear from this that at present Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board no longer has any Waqf related claim on the UP College campus. Whatever land is there, it is in the name of UP College. Despite this, the issue is being blown out of proportion by taking the name of BACF.
On November 29, 2024, when a large number of Namazis arrived, the atmosphere in the college campus deteriorated and protest demonstrations began.
Controversy increased during examination
The Principal told that semester examinations are going on in the college. Mid-term unit test, pre-board examination and study work is going on in all the units located on the college campus. This examination time is very important for students. In such a situation, Mukhtar Ahmed and Ghulam Rasool, along with about 10 unknown people, are trying to spoil the harmonious atmosphere of the college campus.
College students are angry due to this. Along with taking legal action against everyone, the Principal has also demanded from the police that undesirable elements, including the accused, who are spoiling the atmosphere, should not be allowed to enter the college premises. Today the police monitored all the gates and ensured that no outsiders enter the UP College campus except teachers, staff and students.
