Today, on the last trading day of the week i.e. 6th December, there was flat trading in the stock market. Sensex closed at 81,709 with a fall of 56 points. Nifty also fell by 30 points, it closed at the level of 24,677.
At the same time, BSE Smallcap closed at 57,050 with a gain of 342 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 declined and 13 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 32 declined and 18 rose. In the NSE sectoral index, the metal sector closed with the highest gain of 1.23%.
Foreign investors bought shares worth ₹8,539.91 crore
- Reliance, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Infosys dragged the market down. Whereas, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and ITC pulled the market higher.
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 0.77% and Korea’s Kospi fell by 0.56%. Whereas China’s Shanghai Composite Index closed with a gain of 1.05%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹8,539.91 crore on December 5. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) sold shares worth ₹ 2,303.64 crore.
- On December 5, America’s Dow Jones fell 0.55% and closed at 44,765. The S&P 500 fell 0.19% to 6,075 and the Nasdaq lost 0.17% to 19,700.
There was a rise in the market yesterday Earlier yesterday i.e. on December 5, the Sensex had recovered 1,298 points from the day’s low of 80,467. After the day’s trading, it closed at 81,765 with a gain of 809 points. Nifty also recovered 413 points from the day’s low of 24,295. It closed at the level of 24,708 with a gain of 240 points.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 28 were up and 2 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 41 were up and 9 were down. The IT sector closed the highest in the sectoral index of NSE with a gain of 1.95%. While PSU banks and realty sectors closed with a decline.
