People are going crazy about the Kimbh chaat available here. A huge crowd can be seen at this stall from morning till evening. Kimbh ki chaat is available only during winter. Because, this chaat is made using galgal and galgal grows only in winter. Galgal is called Kimbh in the local dialect of Una.
Kimb is full of medicinal properties
Meena Thakur, a woman from Shakti Self Help Group Una, told Local 18 that Kimbh is grown in winter. People are very fond of eating this chaat. Its specialty is that it is full of medicinal properties. It is helpful in curing cold, cough and cold that occur with changing weather. At the same time, if any person’s blood is thick, then it can prove to be effective in curing it. Vitamin C is found in abundance in it. Apart from this, Kimbha is also endowed with many medicinal properties. Apart from this, green coriander and green mint chutney is added to enhance the taste. This not only improves the taste, but it also has its own medicinal properties.
Earning up to Rs 20 thousand in a day
Meena Thakur said that this year, compared to last year, people are getting good response. Earning up to Rs 20 thousand per day. We used to enjoy Kimbh chaat since childhood and our elders also used to consume it during winters. It is considered best to consume Kimbha in sunlight. Meena Thakur says that she joined the self-help group in 2020 and has been running it for 4 years. A total of 10 women work in this group. We have promoted Una’s food outside the state including Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Noida and Delhi.
