Jin co-founded the company with Baek Jong Won in December 2022 and will unveil the traditional liquor ‘IGIN’ this month.
After making it big in the music industry, BTS member Kim Seok Jinaka Jin, is ready to venture into the world of business. In collaboration with Baek Jong Won, a professional chef and The Born Korea CEO, Jin will enter into the traditional liquor business and will soon release a new liquor later this month, reports stated. While the move marks a significant milestone in Jin’s career graph, it also makes him the first BTS member to start an independent business.
As per Allkpop, Jin and Baek Jong Won have co-founded an agricultural company titled Yesan Doga, under which they will release a distilled liquor called IGIN. A premium traditional Korean liquor, it will be prepared with the specialties and traditions of Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do, the hometown of Baek Jon Won.

Besides the distilled liquor, their company will also produce ready-to-drink options like IGIN Sweet Tonic and IGIN Sour Tonic which are made with apples, watermelons and plums.
In December 2022, Jin and Baek established Jin’s Lamp in Yesan when preparations for the venture went underway. While Jin’s Lamp will handle the production of IGIN, Yesan Doga, also a subsidiary of The Born Korea, will oversee the brand’s overseas distribution. Master Park Rok Dam, often referred to as the godfather of Korean traditional liquor, will serve as an advisor to enhance the brand’s development and quality.
The announcement has also sparked excitement among fans as they look forward to their favourite idol venturing into a new market amid the ongoing holiday season. It is worth mentioning that the collaboration between the K-pop idol and the culinary expert will set new benchmarks in modernising traditional Korean liquor, taking a larger step toward its global recognition.
On Jin’s musical front, the eldest BTS member recently unveiled his debut solo album titled Happy. Marking his much-awaited release after military discharge, the album also made it to the Billboard charts, gaining popularity among fans since its November release. A six-song album, Happy consists of tracks like I’ll Be There, Heart on the Window, Running Wild, I Will Come to You, Falling, and Another Level.
