Dehradun: Severe cold is being seen in Uttarakhand these days. Cold is increasing due to fog in the plains of the state and frost in the hilly areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in the state for the next few days, but there is also a possibility of frost during the night. On December 8 and 9, the weather changed suddenly and cold wave started spreading from the mountains to the plains of the state.
Although the mild sunshine during the day gives people relief from cold, but the cold in the morning and night is forcing people to shiver. These days, in most areas of Uttarakhand, the maximum temperature is being recorded 1 to 2 degrees Celsius less than normal and the temperature is expected to fall further in the coming time.

Director of Meteorological Center told
Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of Dehradun Meteorological Center said that the weather of the state remains dry these days. It is going to be like this for the next few days. Although both fog and sunshine are being seen in the plains including the capital Dehradun, still the minimum temperature of the capital has reached below 4 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Director said that the maximum temperature of Dehradun on Saturday is likely to be 24 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 4 degrees Celsius. At the same time, there is a possibility of frost at some places in the mountainous areas.
Temperature conditions in Dehradun
According to the information received from the Meteorological Center, on Saturday the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 24.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was 4.3 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the maximum temperature of Pantnagar was 22.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was 1.6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature of Mukteshwar was 15.5 degrees, while the minimum temperature was 1.0 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, the maximum temperature of New Tehri was recorded at 17.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was 3.0 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, the air quality index (AQI) of Dehradun was recorded at 126, which falls in the moderate category.
