Mirzapur. To monitor the government arrangements amid cold wave and severe cold in the district, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Shiv Pratap Shukla and SDM Sadar Gulab Chandra inspected the city area on Saturday night. Authorities organized night shelters and bonfires.

Destitutes were sent to night shelters
During the inspection, officials identified destitute persons on the road and sent them to various night shelters in the city. These persons were sent to a safe place in the temporary night shelters set up in Ghantaghar and Roadways complex to escape the cold. To escape the cold, night shelters have been built in Vindhyachal, Roadways Complex and Ghantaghar, where people can spend the night safely and warmly. Besides, arrangements have also been made to burn bonfires at major places and intersections of the city.
Instructions for arranging mattresses, pillows and blankets
During the inspection, the officials gave instructions to make adequate arrangements of mattresses, pillows, quilts and blankets in the night shelters. Apart from this, strict instructions were also given to the responsible officers for proper management. The effect of western disturbance active in the state is being felt in Mirzapur. The minimum temperature recorded in the district on Saturday was 10 degrees Celsius, due to which the cold wind gusts are causing trouble for the common people.
