Its demand is there in every corner of Ballia including Gujarat, Mumbai, Assam and Delhi. This sweet becomes famous during Makar Sankranti i.e. Khichdi festival.

It does not take much time to make this sweet. Even the expenses are very less. It is known by many names like Chivda, Chiuda and Chura at different places. Chiuda is bought and roasted in hot sand or salt in Gosar. After this, water is added to the jaggery and it is cooked for a long time on low flame in the pan. After that a special aroma starts coming. After this, part of this jaggery is put in chiuda and black sesame seeds are added on top. Now it is made round by hand. It is very delicious to eat. This sweet is available for Rs 100 per kg.
