In a shocking incident in Hardoi, a young man was tied to a cot and subjected to brutal beatings by residents of a neighboring house. Police arrived on the scene after receiving a report, successfully rescuing the victim, who was then hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries.
The Incident Unfolds
The victim, identified as Awadhesh, 35, was allegedly taken from his home in Basahar village by Ved Ram, Pramod, and Amit, who claimed that he had attempted to steal from their property. The accused maintain that Awadhesh entered their home with the intent to commit theft, leading to their violent confrontation.
A Family’s Plea for Justice
However, Awadhesh’s family vehemently denies the theft allegations. His brother asserts that the attack stems from a long-standing rivalry, stating, “My brother was wrongly accused of theft. In fact, they picked him up while he was sleeping and took him to their home, where they beat him mercilessly.” Following the assault, Awadhesh was tied to a cot, and his family promptly called the police for assistance. Officers arrived and freed him, after which he was transported to the Community Health Center (CHC) for medical care.
Ongoing Investigation
Police Inspector Umakant Deepak confirmed that an investigation is underway into the matter, as both parties have lodged accusations against one another.
