Anupam Kher recently met with Govinda’s brother, Kirti Kumar and discussed various matters, including Govinda’s health after his accident.
A few days ago, veteran actor Govinda was rushed to the hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. The 60-year-old actor’s licensed gun misfired when he dropped it while placing it in the almirah. After receiving several days of treatment at CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai, Govinda was discharged. In a recent development, Govinda’s brother met with actor Anupam Kher to discuss the actor’s recovery and also touched upon his health.
On October 18, Anupam Kher shared a video on his Instagram account featuring Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar. Among many other things, the duo discussed Govinda’s health after he was discharged from the hospital. In a note accompanying the video, Kher mentioned, “Encounter in the Park: I was so happy to meet #KirtiKumar ji after a long long time. Kirti Ji directed one of my favourite films #Hatya. We spoke about many things including my friend and his younger brother #Govinda’s leg injury. Relieved to know that he is progressing well.”
In the video, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actor also revealed that he met with the director after years and revealed that Kirti Kumar directed his 1988 action thriller Hatya, in which Govinda also starred. Later, he inquired why Kirti Kumar stopped making films, to which he answered that everything depended on the circumstances and further proceeded to heap praise on Kher. In a certain part of the note, Kher mentioned, “We also spoke about time spent together, 90’s cinema and also the importance of being kind in life. Nice to meet you, my friend! See you soon with a film script! Jai Ho! #Memories #Kindness.”
This post by Kher garnered the attention of actress Mahima Chaudhry, who wrote, “AK u have this amazing ability to touch people’s hearts and bring out the best in them. He said, ‘u have not only worked in my film but also in my LIFE,’ True for me too.” Meanwhile, many of his fans shared that they loved his movie Hatya. One fan said, “Hatya is one of my favourite movies… Love everything about that movie… You are right Sir, we would love if sir would make more movies.. #nothinglike90smovies.” Another wrote, “I loved Hatya. Till date it’s Govinda’s best film.”
Speaking of Govinda’s leg injury, the incident took place when he was reportedly leaving for Kolkata. After the bullet was taken out from his leg, the actor shared an audio message with the media. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “Namaste, pranam. This is Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru… I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I am deeply thankful to the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal. Thank you all for your prayers and support.” He was discharged from the hospital on October 4.
