Moradabad Division Deputy Inspector General of Police Muniraj ji reached Amroha on Saturday evening. Where he took stock of the ongoing preparations for the historic Tigri Ganga fair. He also examined the situation by walking around the fair site. During this time Amroha SP Kunwar Anupam was with him.

The DIG told the police officers that this time 25-30 lakh devotees are expected to come to the fair. There should be no compromise with the safety of devotees. Along with barricading, indicator boards should be installed at all the ghats. The entire fair should be equipped with CCTV cameras. Male and female constables, including one sub-inspector, should be deployed in every sector of the fair.
The DIG, who reached the Tigri fair site, inspected various Ganga ghats, parking lots, route diversion arrangements etc. During the inspection, a review meeting was held to review the preparations for the safe conduct of the fair. Necessary guidelines were given regarding police management and crowd control. DIG directed that adequate police force should be deployed at all places in the fairs and the police force should be deployed in two shifts during the fair.
Parking space for devotees’ vehicles should be identified and vehicles of devotees should be parked in the parking space. Vigilant vigil should be maintained from the control room with the help of CCTV cameras installed at major intersections in the fair. Crowd control should be made effective by deploying adequate police force at Ganga Ghat during the fair. There should be no stampede situation anywhere in the fair. Enough to ensure that incidents of molestation and snatching of women do not happen.
Police arrangements should be made. Police duty should be imposed even on private clothes. Also, the traffic in-charge was directed to maintain the traffic system for smooth and safe movement of devotees. Also, there should be proper lighting arrangements on the ghats built on the banks of river Ganga during the fair, so that the devotees do not face any problem in taking bath and can take bath at any time. A close watch should be kept on anti-social elements. Immediate legal action should be taken against those who create any kind of disturbance.
