Eijaz Khan started working in films in the early 2000s, but according to him, he did not do well initially. Later, he re-entered Bollywood after working on several successful TV shows and is currently happy to be part of films and web series.
Eijaz Khan has for long been a popular face in both the TV and film industries. The actor has worked on several successful shows and was last seen in the blockbuster film Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. Eijaz is undoubtedly one of those actors who have gradually established himself in both industries, and the actor believes that he is still in need of appreciation from his audience. In his recent interaction, he noted that he still has a lot to explore in terms of his profession.
In the interview with ETimes, Eijaz Khan mentioned, “While I no longer feel the need to prove myself, validation from the audience is still crucial in this industry. I crave recognition more than applause.” Eijaz Khan started working in films in the early 2000s, but according to him, he did not do well at that time. Later, he re-entered Bollywood after working on several successful TV shows and is currently happy to be part of many films and web series.
The actor also opened up about how the film industry is more open to casting TV actors today than in 2000. He explained, “The industry is more receptive to casting television actors now. Of course, you still need a ‘cooling-off’ period because no one wants an actor with TV baggage. However, back in the early 2000s, it was nearly impossible for TV actors to break into films. At that time, things didn’t work out for me.”
Apart from Jawan, Eijaz Khan was seen in the web series Adrishyam – The Invisible Heroes as well. But for the actor he is ready to go back to television if he gets good roles. Currently he is staying away from daily soaps since it’s a long-term commitment. He added, “I’m getting to explore diverse characters in OTT and films. I still feel the industry hasn’t fully tapped into my potential, so I make sure to give more during auditions, hoping they’ll notice something unique and add more layers to the role.”
On the personal front, Eijaz Khan has faced several setbacks. He had a rough patch last year when he suffered a series of injuries and illnesses. He contracted typhoid twice, fractured four metatarsals in his right foot, and had to get rods inserted. The actor mentioned he was bedridden for two months and spent another three in physiotherapy.
