In Meerut, Mall Road will remain one-way on Bhaiya Dooj on Sunday. Vehicles will not be allowed to pass through Mall Road from 8 am to 10 pm from Commissionerate House intersection to Roorkee Road Tank intersection. TI Vinay Kumar Shahi said that there is a crowd of vehicles on Bhaiya Dooj. The number of vehicles on Mall Road increases significantly. This not only causes jam but also there is a possibility of accidents due to the absence of dividers on the road. In such a situation, from 8 am to 10 pm on Sunday, all types of vehicles on Mall Road will have to go from Commissionerate House intersection to Tank intersection via Boundary Road. From here these vehicles will have to go towards Tank intersection via Zero Mile intersection. Similarly, vehicles coming from Ganganagar side, which have to go to Roorkee Road, will also go through Zero Mile via Boundary Road. Vehicles from Roorkee Road Tank intersection will move towards Commissionerate House intersection as before. No changes have been made regarding them.
The experiment was successful, one-way plan will be implemented on Mall Road in future also.
If the experiment of one-way system on Mall Road is successful, then the traffic police will implement one-way system on Mall Road in future also. Mall Road is a busy road of the city. There are a lot of vehicles here. There is no divider in the middle of the road. In such a situation, the police will see whether there is any jam at Lalkurti or Zero Mile after making Mall Road one-way.
