On the night of 31 October, the bodies of cousins Dev (11) and Mahi (9) were found lying on the roadside outside the village in village Bhayla of Deoband police station. Both the brothers and sisters had gone to the temple to light lamps on Diwali. The temple is outside the village. After the bodies of both the children were found, the family members attributed murder to Tantric rituals.
There was an uproar also. But the police suspected an accident at the spot. After which the next day the family members blocked the road. Many leaders including BJP minister Kunwar Brijesh Singh, former MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma had reached the spot. Who consoled the family. Asked to register a case based on the allegations of the family members. Police had to register a case of murder without any reason
But now the cause of death of both the children has become very clear. According to the postmortem report, both the children were hit by sharp objects. Due to which Avni’s legs were broken. Many bones of Mahi’s body are also broken. Police have proceeded with the investigation on hit and run angle. The color has been identified from the parts of the vehicle found at the incident site. It has come to light that there is a car there.
SP Dehat Sagar Jain says that the pieces of the vehicle appear to be a car. The color has been identified. The car is being searched. Three police teams have been formed. Which is checking CCTV and investigating every angle.
