Now a portable MRI machine is soon going to arrive in Halat Hospital to detect congenital diseases of newborn children. Kanpur Medical College administration has made complete preparations regarding this. It is believed that children will start getting this facility in the month of December.

No need to run here and there with children
To get children screened, family members have to run from one lab to another carrying them in their arms. Especially when someone is a serious patient, the family members have to face a lot of problems. After the arrival of this machine, now the screening of children will be done on the bed itself.
Machine will come under Kangaroo Mother Care Project
Medical College Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala said that this machine will be brought in the Pediatrics Department under the Kangaroo Mother Care Project. This is the first machine to come to any government hospital in the entire Uttar Pradesh. This will help in saving the lives of newborns with severe symptoms.
Examination will be done on bed only
The size of this machine is equal to a small table. He will be brought to the bed and examined. After this, the report will also be presented to the doctor within a few minutes. This machine will scan even the smallest brain activities of newborns.
He said that the portable MRI available under Kangaroo Mother Care will prove to be a lifesaver for the children. The life of the newborn will be safe with this machine. With the help of this machine, neuro images of children can be seen. In children whose brain is deprived of oxygen from birth, it will be easier to check for hemorrhage and brain fluid.
065 Tesla’s machine will be
He told that this portable MRI will be of 065 Tesla. The price of this machine is around Rs 10 lakh.
