Srinagar Garhwal. After a fight with his wife at home in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, a 35-year-old young man, under the influence of alcohol, left the house with his four-year-old daughter towards Alaknanda Nandi. Where he himself climbed over the bridge and left the four-year-old girl on the river bank. The innocent girl, finding herself alone, started crying after seeing her father doing all this. After which the local people heard the crying voice of the girl and informed the police.
Srinagar Kotwali in-charge Mani Bhushan Srivastava said that a 35-year-old youth, resident of Ratri Nursery Road, Bahuguna Marg, had a fight at home. After which he left his four year old innocent daughter on the banks of Alaknanda river and hanged himself from Naithana bridge. Hearing the crying sound of the girl, the local people informed the police.
Rescued after jumping into Alaknanda
Based on the information, police from Srinagar police station reached the spot at night along with water police and SDRF team. Till then the person was hanging on the bridge. Tried to rescue the person, but he jumped into Alaknanda. Then somehow the young man was saved by SDRF and police personnel.
Fight with wife while drunk
He told that the young man was drunk and after a fight with his wife, he had gone away with his four-year old daughter. At present the young man is fine. The young man has been admitted to the hospital. Where the condition of the youth is said to be fine. The daughter has also been handed over safely to her family.
