Haldwani. On Sunday, the body of an old woman was found in the bushes near the railway track near Jeevandan Hospital in Gaujajali. When people out on their morning walk saw the dead body lying in the bushes, they informed the police. According to the police, Hansi Devi (85 years old), wife of late Dhan Singh Bisht, was living in the leprosy ashram located in Motinagar for many years. She used to earn her living by begging. Hansi’s son lives with his family in Dehradun and Hansi was earning her living by begging in Haldwani. The son remains separated from his mother since the age of 4.
According to the police, Hansi Devi died after being hit by a train. Last Friday, November 1, Hansi, as usual, had gone out to beg from the leprosy ashram, but she did not return. On Sunday morning, when people went out for morning walk as usual near Jeevandan Hospital in Gaujajali, they saw the dead body of an old woman lying in the bushes on the railway track.

SI Babita told that there were injury marks at many places on the old woman’s body. A bag was found near the dead body, which contained some leaves and a mug. The old woman was identified as Hansi. It was found out that he also has a son, who lives with his family in Dehradun. On Sunday, the son cremated the mother’s body after the post-mortem and told that he had been living separately from his mother since he was four years old.
