Randi Mahomesmother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomespublicly endorsed former US President Donald Trump ahead of the US presidential election. In a video shared by OutKick, she wore a “Make America Great Again” hat and a Chiefs sweatshirt.
“Make America great again. Let’s do it. Woo!” Randi Mahomes said, as reported by Fox news.
This incident follows other recent instances of political displays at NFL games. San Francisco 49ers player Nick Bosa wore a “Make America Great Again” hat after a game. Fans at Levi’s Stadium and Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium reported being confronted by security over pro-Trump attire.
Randi Mahomes’ daughter-in-law, Brittany Mahomespreviously sparked debate by liking and commenting on an Instagram post by Trump outlining his “2024 GOP platform.”
“I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” Brittany Mahomes wrote in response to the reaction. “Contrary to the tone of the world today… you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind.”
Trump took notice of Brittany’s subtle endorsement, praising her in a social media post. “I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump said. He applauded her as part of a “great couple” with Patrick Mahomes, concluding, “See you both at the Super Bowl!”
Patrick Mahomes has not publicly endorsed a candidate. “I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,” he said in an interview. “I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research,” he added.
Randi is the ex-wife of former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes Sr. In August, Pat Mahomes Sr. pleaded guilty to a DWI charge, marking his third or more offence.
The US presidential election will decide the 47th president, as Republican Donald Trump faces off against Democrat Kamala Harris.
