Even today, due to vacancies of many such specialist doctors in the mountains, patients have to run to higher centers or metropolitan cities to get their treatment. If we talk about Almora district of Uttarakhand, then the post of plastic surgery doctor is lying vacant here. It was expected that after the opening of the Medical College of Almora, the people of Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Champawat districts including Almora will get benefit due to the presence of a specialist plastic surgery doctor here, but even today people have to go to the hospital to get their treatment. We have to race towards the center or the metros. Because of which they have to spend more money and time and go out.
Local resident Ajaymitra Bisht said that the state of Uttarakhand was formed so that the people of the hills could get facilities. It has been 24 years since Uttarakhand was formed, but despite this, the condition of health facilities is very poor. A medical college has been built in Almora, but many posts of doctors are still vacant here, in which due to lack of plastic surgeon doctors, patients have to go to Haldwani or Delhi and metropolitan cities. He has demanded that plastic surgeons should be deployed in hilly areas. So that the general public can get this facility and they can get treatment in their own area instead of running to other cities.
Ajaymitra Bisht said that if anyone wants to get treatment, he has to go outside and the condition of private hospitals is not hidden from anyone today. If this type of facility is started in the government hospitals of the hills, then it will benefit the people a lot and it will have less impact on their life. For this, the government and administration need to pay a lot of attention so that the people of the hills can get better health facilities.
Principal of the Medical College, Dr. CP Bhaisoda, while talking to Local 18 on phone, said that he has sent a letter to the government for plastic surgeon and no vacancy has been created for this post yet. As soon as it is approved, the posts will be filled through interviews.
