The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics was grandly inaugurated on Tuesday in the building of Covid Hospital built in the Medical College campus of Gonda. In this ceremony, Principal of the Medical College, Dr. Dhananjay Shrikant Kotasthane inaugurated the new department by cutting the ribbon.

On this occasion, leading gynecologist, Dr. Mahikirti Sisodia was welcomed with a bouquet. From now on, pregnant women in critical condition will not need to go to Lucknow, because they will get treatment in Gonda Medical College only. This step has brought relief not only to the people of Gonda but also to the people of surrounding districts.
Before Gonda District Women’s Hospital, pregnant women in critical condition were referred to Lucknow Bahraich Medical College, due to which their families had to face a lot of difficulties. Now with the opening of the new OPD, patients will get better health facilities.
Dr Mahikirti Sisodia, who was earlier posted at the District Women’s Hospital, Balrampur, will now serve at the Gonda Medical College. Principal Dhananjay Shrikant Kotasthane informed that soon women’s ward and small operation will also be started.
According to the rules of the Health Ministry, the opening of this OPD was necessary, so that women could get better treatment facilities. Now, with the opening of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department in Gonda, a new hope has arisen.
