A case of large-scale black marketing of food grains distributed to the poor by government fair price vendors has come to light in the rural areas of Lalitpur. Most of the villagers, who are victims of this disturbance, take their problems to the authorities.

Recently, the villagers of Barikhurd Gram Panchayat of Talbehat development block submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate complaining that the Kotedar does not provide them food grains and black markets them. On receiving the complaint, the District Magistrate sent District Supply Inspector Sunil Kumar to the spot to investigate the matter. The inspector’s surprise inspection created a stir in the shop. Investigation found that 26 quintals of wheat and 61 quintals of rice were not available in stock. During investigation, it was revealed that the Kotedar had sold this food grain by black marketing.
Police is searching for the accused On the complaint of Supply Inspector Sunil Kumar, Kotwali Talbehat police have registered a case against fair price seller Sendpal under Section 3/7 of Uttar Pradesh Essential Commodities Act and started searching for him.
