Rishikesh: Devuthani Ekadashi is considered a very important day in Hindu religion. On this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from his yoga nidra and all auspicious works begin. It is also called Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi or Devotthan Ekadashi. It falls in the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month and Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi are especially worshiped on this day. So that his blessings can be obtained. On the second day, Tulsi Vivah is performed, which has its own religious significance.
During a conversation with Local 18, Shubham Tiwari, priest of Shri Sacha Akhileshwar Mahadev Temple located in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, said that this year the festival of Devuthani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 12 November 2024. By fasting and worshiping on this day, a person attains happiness, prosperity and good fortune. The special thing is that Tulsi Vivah is organized on the next day of Devuthani Ekadashi, which will take place on 13th November. The religious importance of this day increases even more because Tulsi Vivah is considered to be the sacred union of Tulsi Mata with Lord Vishnu. If any young man or woman is not able to get married or is facing any kind of obstacle in it, then they can take special measures on the day of Tulsi Vivah.

While worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day, it is considered auspicious to apply tilak of saffron, yellow sandalwood or turmeric in front of him. After this, yellow flowers are offered to him. If you want to fulfill your wish, then offer water to the Peepal tree on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi. Lord Vishnu resides in the Peepal tree, and by offering water to it, all your wishes can be fulfilled. Performing Tulsi marriage on this day is considered auspicious.
