New Delhi. Royal Enfield has launched a recall campaign globally for all motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023. This step has been taken after problems were found in the reflectors installed on the back and sides of some models.
Although the exact number of affected bikes has not been disclosed yet, the recall applies to all 11 existing models of the company.
Royal Enfield recall: What’s the problem?
The company has found that the performance capability of these reflectors is not as per the prescribed standards, which may affect the visibility. Although this problem has been found only in a few motorcycles, giving priority to safety, the company has decided to recall all the units manufactured during this period as a precautionary measure.
Royal Enfield recall: What’s next?
Owners of the affected bikes will be contacted in a phased manner and these reflectors will be replaced free of cost at the company’s service centres. It will take about 15 minutes to replace the reflectors in a motorcycle.
This recall is being done in many regions including India, UK, Europe, Latin America, Brazil, USA, Canada and South Korea. The company has clarified that this is a precautionary step to ensure the safety of customers, even though this problem has been found only in a limited number of bikes.
The company’s most recent launch was the updated Classic 350, which was followed by the all-new Guerrilla 450. Soon, the manufacturer is preparing to launch its new bike Classic 650, which will join the ranks of bikes like Super Meteor 650, 650 Twins and Shotgun 650.
