People are trying in many ways to convey these to today’s young generation. Sunny Dayal, the popular singer of Jaunsar region, works to make people’s hearts beat with Jaunsar songs even in the Bollywood era. He is currently also working on a song with famous Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal.
Jaunsari folk singer Sunny Dayal of Uttarakhand told Local 18 that his career started from the year 2006-07. He started his journey as a folk dancer but in the year 2013 there came a time when he felt that he should also sing. When he sang a song in Jaunsari language, people liked it very much. From then till today, his voice and songs are getting a lot of love from the people.
Increasing inclination of youth towards mountain culture
Sunny Dayal said that even in the era of Bollywood and Hollywood songs, the youth of the hills are connected to their culture. Even though Bollywood is a big platform, there are many singers who come and go, but a regional artist sings for a long time due to his language, and always gets love. He said that the peace and sweetness found in our culture and language is not found anywhere else. He said that from today’s young generation to even an old man from a typical hill country, they dance to his songs and it gives them a feeling of intimacy.
Have performed twice in front of PM Modi
Sunny Dayal told that in the area from where he comes, people have to work very hard in the fields of education and entertainment, but if they want something passionately and struggle for it, then they definitely get success. He has sung excellent songs like O Babye, Gaon Ki Yaad, Gaon Lohari, Meri Kismat, Rajima Le and Kodo Ka Kodua, which narrate everything from making the youngsters dance to the pain of the elders of the hills. Sunny has mesmerized people with his songs not only in Uttarakhand but also in Himachal Pradesh. He has also performed in Delhi. Sunny is the only Jaunsari singer from Uttarakhand, who has sung a song twice in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When the foundation stone of Bullet Train was laid, he also represented Uttarakhand in front of PM Modi and former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.
