New Delhi. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has recalled its motorcycles with 300cc and 350cc engines due to technical problems. This recall includes 5 major models of the company.
The company has informed the regulatory authority that these bikes are being called to repair the fault in the wheel speed sensor and camshaft. However, the number of recalled bikes has not been made public at this time.
Probability of malfunction in braking system
Improper molding process was used in the manufacturing of Honda CB300F, CB300R, H’ness CB350, CB350 and CB350RS models manufactured between October 2020 and April 2024, which increased the possibility of water ingress into the wheel speed sensor. Due to this, the sensor may malfunction, due to which the speedometer, traction control or ABS may stop working. This fault can affect the braking system, increasing the risk of the bike crashing.
A defect has been found in some parts of the camshaft in Honda H’ness CB350, CB350 and CB350RS manufactured between June 2024 and July 2024. Due to this problem, the performance of the bike can be affected, because the camshaft is important for the mechanical system of the engine. The company has not reported any accident at present, but this recall has been done keeping in mind the possible dangers.
No fees will be charged to the customer
The company has requested customers to take their bikes to the nearest Honda Bigwing dealership and get the parts checked and replaced. For this, customers will have to book an appointment in advance. No fee will be charged from customers in this process.
Additionally, official workshops will also contact the motorcycle owners and inform them about the defect and explain the process of free replacement.
Book appointment on Honda Bigwing website
Owners of the bikes can visit the official website of Honda Bigwing and check their vehicle in the ‘Recall Campaign’ section. For this, along with choosing the model of the bike, they will have to enter the 17 digit VIN/Chassis number, so that they can know whether their bike is affected by wheel speed sensor or camshaft problem or not.
This entire process will be free for customers, and the company will not charge any fee for replacing or repairing the affected parts.
