Haldwani. Three-day Johar Mahotsav Haldwani is going on in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. It started from 8th November. It has been organized in the grounds of MB Inter College. On the first day, a procession was taken out from Johar Jan Milan Center to the festival venue. In the tableaux included in the procession, a glimpse of the culture of Vyas, Darma and Chaudas valleys living in the border areas of Pithoragarh, the border district of Uttarakhand, was seen. During the yatra, 4-4 generations were giving the message of being connected to their roots. The tune of Johari songs and musical instruments showed how culturally rich this society is despite all the struggles.
Johari Shauka cuisine competition was organized on the second day of Johar Mahotsav i.e. on 9th November. Stage presentations based on Dhuska-Chanchri dance and Shoka costume and culture are going on. Bubble artist Vikram Singh Bora will perform today. On the third and last day of the festival i.e. on 10th November, painting competition, general knowledge quiz, speech competition, fancy dress show and mehndi competition will be organized for children. Nepal’s famous singer Ramchandra Kafle will perform on Sunday itself. The festival will conclude with a cultural program and prize distribution ceremony.
