New Delhi. Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated version of Hero Splendor Plus Xtech in the Indian market on Friday (6 September). This top selling bike of the company is now being offered with disc brake. However, only drum brakes will be available on the rear wheel. Splendor Plus Xtec has been introduced with new graphics and minor cosmetic updates. Apart from this, the company has not made any changes in the design, other hardware and engine of the bike. This bike runs 73 kilometers in one liter petrol.
The ex-showroom price of Splendor Plus Xtec disc brake variant is Rs 83,461, which is Rs 3,550 more expensive than the drum brake variant. The ex-showroom price of the drum brake model is Rs 79,911. Three color options will be available in the disc brake variant, which include Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Red Black color. In India, the new Splendor Plus competes with Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina and TVS Radian.
Engine, Performance and Mileage
A 97.2cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine has been used to power the new Splendor Plus Xtec. This engine generates 8.02hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox for transmission and uses i3s technology for fuel saving. The company claims that the bike gives a mileage of 73 kmpl. It has a fuel tank with a capacity of 9.8 litres.
Brakes, suspension and features
For comfort, the bike has been provided with telescopic fork at the front and 5-step preload adjustable twin shock absorber at the rear. For braking, the top variant has 240mm front disc brake and 130mm rear drum brake. Whereas, in the standard variant, 130mm drum brakes are available on both the wheels. The bike has 80-section tubeless tires with 18-inch wheels. Its ground clearance is 165 mm.
Talking about the features, the bike has a fully digital instrument cluster, which shows mileage information. Apart from this, it has side-stand indicator, speedometer, odometer, trip meter and low fuel indicator readout, Bluetooth connectivity with call and message alerts, USB charging port and some other features. The bike is now also provided with a hazard light with a dedicated switch.
