Prayagraj Development Authority has withdrawn the notice for demolition of houses of Sonia Singh alias Dali Singh, resident of Alopibagh area and many others. Authority’s advocate Avadhesh Narayan Dubey gave this information while hearing the petition of Sonia Singh and 7 others.

Giving them time to file an affidavit withdrawing the demolition order, the court has fixed November 21 as the next hearing date.
This was the whole matter
Advocate Manisha Chaturvedi argued the petition. They say that the petitioners have been living in the house by building it for the last four decades. This land belongs to the Cantonment Board. Prayagraj Development Authority does not have the jurisdiction to take action on this. He has issued an illegal notice. The petition demands cancellation of the demolition proceedings. 20 families will be affected by PDA’s action. No arrangements have been made for their rehabilitation. Moreover, the PDA has started illegal proceedings without deciding the claim of the petitioners. The petition has also demanded a ban on demolition.
