RWA people reached Dainik Bhaskar office in Lucknow on Sunday and expressed their displeasure over the functioning of LDA and Municipal Corporation. During this period, the issue of waterlogging in localities, dilapidated roads and illegal occupation of footpaths remained prevalent.

Road turned into a pit in front of Parshvanath Planet
Soni Singh, who lives in Parshvanath Planet, said that the main road in front of the society has become dilapidated. There are potholes at many places. The office of the State Information Commissioner is on this road. Officials always come and go through this road. Despite this, those responsible for the broken road have been sitting with closed eyes for months.
LDA violates the promise
Vivek Sharma demanded to provide cleanliness and facilities in societies.
Lucknow Jankalyan Mahasamiti General Secretary Vivek Sharma accused LDA of breaking the promise. He said that most of the facilities that LDA had promised while building the apartments are incomplete. Despite repeated requests, LDA is neglecting to provide facilities. New officers come and say big things but nothing happens on the ground.
Solar panel not being installed due to slowness of LDA
Lucknow Jankalyan Mahasamiti President Umashankar Dubey said that due to the slowness of LDA, solar panels are not being installed in the apartments of Gomtinagar extension. The electricity connection of the common area of the campus is in the name of LDA. If this connection is made in the name of RWA then the hurdles in installing the panel will be eliminated. He accused the LDA of still holding the corpus fund money.

Negligence in road, sewer and cleanliness
Advocate Vinay Krishna Pandey, General Secretary of Jankipuram Extension Joint Welfare Committee, said that LDA and Municipal Corporation are failing to fulfill our basic needs. Street lights and open gym facilities have not reached everywhere. They keep writing about the problems but they are solved on paper while sitting in the offices. Due to this, problems keep increasing in the area.
Municipal corporation does not solve problems
Sunil Kumar Mishra said that the Municipal Corporation is only collecting money and does not do any work.
Sunil Kumar Mishra, co-convenor of Gomti Nagar Extension Development Committee, said that despite being a colony adjacent to the city, there are no facilities here. Letters are being continuously written to the Municipal Corporation for making roads, lights and drains for drainage. The Municipal Corporation dumps all the letters. No action is taken on any letter. Whereas the Municipal Corporation has also started collecting taxes.
People struggling with drainage problems
Subhash Chandra Tiwari, media in-charge of Khargapur Extension Development Committee, said that waterlogging occurs due to lack of big drains. Due to this the roads are falling into disrepair. Apart from Sankat Mochan Dwar and Jashn Lawn, complaints of waterlogging were made at other places but the Municipal Corporation did not take any action.
No toilet facility in Ganesh Market
Vishal Chaurasia raised the issue of toilets in Indira Nagar Ganesh Market and surrounded the Municipal Corporation.
Vishal Chaurasia, treasurer of Ganesh Market located in Indira Nagar, said that since it is a big market, there is a crowd of people here, but due to lack of even one toilet, people, especially women, have to face problems. Going to the toilet here and there spreads dirt and bad smell everywhere. Letters have been written several times for this but till date no work has been done in this direction.
People troubled by waterlogging in Indiranagar
Savita Shukla, General Secretary of Public Welfare Committee of Indira Nagar Sector-14, said that the area gets flooded during rainy days. Many times water leaks into people’s homes. The Municipal Commissioner and the Mayor were met several times regarding this matter but the problem remains the same. He appealed to the local people to remove encroachment on the drains so that rain water can drain out.
Confusion regarding license
AK Dwivedi raised questions on the functioning of the Municipal Corporation. Also asked for what purpose should the license be made?
AK Dwivedi, General Secretary of Ganesh Market of Indiranagar, said that people are troubled by the problem of lack of toilets at the local level. At the same time, Municipal Corporation employees come to the shops and ask to get the license. But they are not able to tell for what reason the license is to be taken. There is confusion regarding this. The Municipal Corporation should clarify this matter.
LDA is hesitant in making boundary in Nehru Enclave
Nehru Enclave Citizen Service Committee President Dr. Anju Varshney said that LDA is not concerned about the safety of the people. A boundary had to be built for the security of the colony. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s stone was also laid to start the construction but till date the boundary has not been built.
A few months ago, construction work took place for a day or two and then it stopped. A month ago, LDA promised to start the work in 15 days but could not live up to its promise. Now we have appealed to the President for the safety of women and the colony.
Administration should open the main gate of the temple
Sunita Srivastava raised the issue of closure of the main gate of the temple in the locality. Also expressed displeasure towards local leaders.
Social worker Sunita Srivastava, living in Indira Nagar Sector-13, said that the administrator of the temple has opened the back gate. Due to the closure of the main gate, the people of the locality face difficulty in performing puja. Here, unruly elements come from the back gate and create ruckus after consuming drugs etc. Local MLA, Mayor and Councilor were told but the main gate has not opened yet.
Cut off should be opened ahead of Polytechnic
Shiv Mangal Singh demanded reopening of the existing cut beyond the Polytechnic intersection.
Shiv Mangal Singh Chauhan, resident of Indira Nagar Sector-8, said that due to closure of the cut, he has to return from Munshi Pulia. The cut should be opened or an underpass or path should be built from above. Complaints were made many times regarding this matter but no one is listening.
Arbitrary charge for cleaning and garbage collection in Gomtinagar
Roop Kumar Sharma accused the Municipal Corporation of negligence in cleanliness.
President of Greater Lucknow Public Welfare Committee, Roop Kumar Sharma said that due to the mismanagement of the Municipal Corporation, separate money has to be paid for cleaning and garbage collection. Due to this, people’s pockets are being burdened unnecessarily. He protested against the closure of the road by building a garbage dump on one side under the Atal Setu in Basmondi. Due to this, there is a huge problem in transportation.
Drainage problem in Janakipum
Anshul Mishra raised the issue of drainage in the area.
Anshul Mishra, Organization Secretary of Jankipuram Extension Joint Welfare Committee, said that colonies are being established but due to lack of drainage system, there is waterlogging on the roads. Due to this the roads are breaking down. This is causing problems in transportation. There is a community center site in Sector 4 which has not been constructed. Garbage is being dumped here due to which the terrible smell and diseases are spreading in the area.
Illegal vending zone causes traffic jam in Sector 8
Engineer Pawan Kumar raised the issue of illegal vending zones.
Engineer Pawan Kumar Jain, President of Indira Nagar Residential Committee, said that under the pressure of some councilors, a vending zone has been made from Sushma Hospital to the police post. Here people have encroached on the drain due to which drainage is not possible and rain causes waterlogging. Along with this, due to closure of the cut on Faizabad Road, a population of one to one and a half lakh people is facing difficulty in commuting.
Capture of closed drain in Indiranagar
Sushil Kumar Bachha said that the drain has been captured. No action is taken on the complaint.

This drain is still incomplete. Whatever is complete has been encroached upon and taken over. Complaint about this matter was made to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Urban Development Minister and Municipal Commissioner but no action has been taken till date.
