New Delhi. TVS Motors has sold 3.91 lakh two-wheelers in August 2024, achieving an impressive growth of 13.23% on an annual basis. In August 2023, this figure was 3.45 lakh units. TVS iQube is the only electric scooter in the company’s lineup and it also plays an important role in the company’s growth. Talking about last month, the company had sold 24,779 units of iQube. Whereas in July 2023, its 23,887 units were sold. That means with 892 more customers, it got a growth of 3.73% on annual basis. It contributed 6.54% in the total sales of the company.
If we look at this year’s sales data of iQube, it has sold the most in August. Last month, sales of this scooter were 24,779 units. The special thing is that even in the year 2023, most of its units were sold in August itself. Overall, 1,39,676 units have been sold from January to August this year. Whereas, during these 8 months of 2023, its 118,850 units were sold. Accordingly, the sales of iQube have increased this year.
Running cost of TVS iQube
According to TVS, the running cost of iQube is much lower than any petrol two-wheeler. The company says that the price of petrol is Rs 100 per liter. In such a situation, the cost of driving a petrol scooter for 50,000 kilometers is approximately Rs 1 lakh. At the same time, the cost of driving iQube for the same distance is only Rs 6,466. The company says that a lot of maintenance is required for petrol two-wheelers, whereas electric scooters require only light maintenance. Apart from this, there is also saving in tax by buying electric scooter. According to the company, Rs 93,500 can be saved in a year by driving TVS iQube electric scooter.
The cost of running iQube for a month is Rs 150.
According to TVS, the cost of fully charging iQube from Zira is Rs 19. The ST model of iQube gets fully charged in 4 hours and 6 minutes. After this it can be driven up to 145 Km. That means if you walk 30Km daily, then this electric scooter will have to be charged twice a week. The cost of charging twice will be Rs 37.50. That means the average monthly expenditure is Rs 150. This expenditure will be Rs 3 per day. At the same time, its range will be 290Km on charging twice. That means you can comfortably walk an average of 30Km every day at this expense.
