Dehradun. During the Corona period, prisoners were released on parole in view of social distancing in jails, but many prisoners have not yet returned to jail. This has increased the tension of the police for which the police department is also going to start a campaign. In fact, during Covid-19 in Uttarakhand, the committee formed after the orders of the Supreme Court had decided to grant parole to many prisoners.
In this, about 12 hundred prisoners from different jails of Uttarakhand were released on parole. Corona ended, and even after 3 years the prisoners released on parole did not return. Now understanding the seriousness of the matter, the jail administration has shared its information with the captains of all the districts. Besides, the police is also starting a special operation to catch these prisoners.

Out of 1200, 550 did not return even after the parole ended.
However, these were the prisoners who were serving their sentence in jail on charges punishable with a punishment of less than 5 years. About 12 hundred prisoners from such states were released on parole. Out of these, till now 550 prisoners have not returned to jail even after the end of their parole. About 100 such prisoners have also been seen who, while on parole, had gone to jail for other crimes only to be punished again for criminal activities.

Prisoners are not surrendering, now preparations are on to run a campaign
Police say that a large number of prisoners are outside. Whose parole time has also ended; Their information is not available even after searching. On the other hand, information is also being sent to the addresses of such prisoners as per rules. These prisoners are not surrendering. Now the police is going to start a campaign for this. According to the information, more than half of these criminals are from states outside the state.
