On Monday, a woman died after being shot under suspicious circumstances in Rangwa village of Majhila police station area of Hardoi. The woman’s husband has claimed that she committed suicide by shooting herself, while the deceased’s maternal family is calling it a suspicious death.

As soon as the information was received, Shahabad area officer Anuj Mishra and Majhila police station incharge Arvind Rai reached the spot with the police force. After inspecting the spot, the police recovered the pistol and sent the body for post-mortem.
There was a dispute regarding cooking According to the information, Mohammad Azad, resident of Rangwa village, had a dispute with his husband regarding the cooking of his wife Asma’s food. The dispute escalated so much that Asma shot herself in the head with a pistol kept in the house. The family members were stunned after hearing the sound of the bullet and the incident was informed to the police.
Parents expressed fear of murder Hearing the news of the incident, Asma’s maternal family members from Epidemic village located in Kotwali Sadar area of Shahjahanpur also reached the spot. The deceased’s father Ishtiaq and other family members have made serious allegations against the in-laws, calling it a case of murder. However, the deceased’s husband Mohammad Azad says that Asma shot herself after a dispute. Azad told that he has four daughters and one son.
Action will be taken after postmortem report Shahabad area officer Anuj Mishra said that the police is investigating every aspect closely. Only after the postmortem report comes, the cause of death will be clearly known and further action will be taken on that basis.
